Cyberbond 5000 series Infiltrant – for the 3 D Rapid Prototype Industry

3 D Printing or the 3 D Rapid Prototype Industry is a relative young industry. It allows you to produce quickly specimen of parts you want to produce later. Thus you are able to hold an individual 1:1 model of whatever design quickly in your hands. You can talk with all members of your design team about the ergonomics or the look or the fit of the new ball pen, the new cup or the new door handle etc.

There are several processes to produce models. The one which is relevant to use CA later is quickly described as following:

  • first you have to read in all CAD data of a design in your computer system,
  • 3 D Printing is similar to ink jet printing, but you do not print on paper but on special powder and the ink is a special adhesive (no CA),
  • now you apply layer for layer and get out a 3 D model.

When you take the model out of the printer, the whole construction has to be impregnated by our     CB 5005 Infiltrant or CB 5008 Infiltrant. This can be done in a kind of painting process or you dip the whole model in CA. This infiltration process gives the parts the right consistency and colour. Due to the enormous amount of CA used and due to the fact that you are in close contact with a relative huge surface covered with CA it is absolutely recommended to use a low odour and blooming poor product; not to forget that these CAs are perfectly adjusted in terms of reactivity for this process.

Cyberbond launched during the Rapid Conference & Exposition in Orlando, Florida in May 2008 CB 5005 Infiltrant and CB 5008 Infiltrant. These are two leading Cyanoacrylates based on Alkoxyester in very low respectively medium viscosity. We are excited to offer these products directly to the 3 D Rapid Prototype Industry after years of private labelling them. 

These time-tested products offer the consistent results this industry expects and deserves. The Cyberbond products offer the unique ability to penetrate parts prior to curing, providing complete saturation of the model and/or partial infiltration as required. These low odour, low heat distortion and low bloom products offer you consistent performance to meet your infiltrant demands.

The products will be offered in three the following standard sizes: 50 g, 500 g and 2 kg. If parts require larger containers for a dipping procedure, we can accommodate these specific needs.
